Idiot Savant--w/ emphasis on idiot
It bothers me when people who can’t take pictures claim to be photographers.
…such as my cousin.Agreed, and it’s sad that this trend isn’t over. It’s insulting considering I’m spending $38,000 a year in hopes of actually making money off of it one day.
Mmmm. I agree wholeheartedly.
anyone that takes photographs is considered to be a photographer. you don’t need to spent boatloads of money on a practice just to prove yourself to the world. all you need is a good eye. because in the end, a $2500 camera is the same as a $2 camera you find at a consignment shop.
Oh, it’s not at all WHAT you take your photographs on. My favourite camera cost pennies from Portobello Market. It is more the people who go and spend thousands on a flashy camera who don’t have that spark or the eye for photographs that call themselves photographers because they own the best-of-the-best.
I say this mostly with regard to my dad. He called himself a golfer because he bought top-of-the-range clubs. He was fairly appalling when it came to knowing how to use them, though.
It’s a bit like that with cameras. I have so much respect for people who get amazing photographs with whatever they have available.
i think you need to make friends with your camera before you use it as an extension of yourself!
What does it matter what others call themselves? Really? If I think I’m a poet, then I can see myself as such. We can’t define what other people call themselves by what WE perceive them to be in relation to what we see ourselves to be. People. Really? Really.
